Job Description: Accounts Officer

ANAP Business Jets Limited (ANAP Jets) is a private jet operator that specializes in fractional ownership and aircraft charter and management. We provide a relevant, appropriate and long-term private aviation business solution in Nigeria and in the sub- region. We are seeking a dynamic young accountant who is eager to learn, proactive and highly intelligent to join our Finance Team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Record and post all financial transactions into the accounting system on a daily basis.
  • Collect and analyze data to establish standard costs and recommend areas for improved cost efficiency
  • Assist in annual and periodic budget preparation.
  • Assist in the preparation of periodic financial and management accounts.
  • Prepare bank reconciliation statement and follow up to ensure proper resolution of any issues identified.
  • Reconcile client and supplier accounts and update as required.
  • Maintain all records of taxation activities including tax liabilities and payments and provide adequate proof of remittances for tax audit exercises.
  • Prepare and ensure prompt remittance of taxes to relevant tax authorities
  • Obtain approvals and disburse cash and other payments to suppliers and employees as required.
  • Process bills/ invoices presented for payment by the Company’s vendors, suppliers and other service providers.
  • Review and update the financial records of the business as appropriate, including invoices, vendor accounts, fixed assets, inventory and other GL accounts.
  • Respond to internal and third-party enquires regarding payments processing.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the VP, Finance

Competency/Skill Requirements

  • Intermediate understanding of International Accounting Standards and practices
  • Intermediate knowledge of state, local, and federal income tax legislation
  • Intermediate cost and financial accounting skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools
  • Good communication skills – oral and written
  • Good problem solving and analysis skills

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Bachelor’s degree (First Class or Second Class Upper only)
  • Relevant professional qualifications (ACA, CIMA, CPA, ACCA).
  • Hands-on practical experience with the use of the Sage accounting software (or similar package) is desirable, but not required.
